Ari Shulman is the founder of Special Assets. With over 25 years of experience, he brings a depth and breadth of expertise in syndication, acquisitions, development, rehabilitation and financing. His hands-on approach to managing complex transactions from beginning to end has earned him a reputation among his clients and peers. Today, much of his focus is on office, industrial and retail properties. A leader in his community, Ari is a past president of Bais Yaakov Hebrew Parochial School and current president of Camp Agudath Israel.

Avi Banker specializes in real estate transactions. Having overseen the purchase of more than $300 million of office, industrial, retail and residential assets, he has developed an ability to identify optimum properties and an expertise in negotiating favorable terms. On behalf of his clients, he has procured more than $200 million of debt from a wide range of financial sources to finance or refinance all types of assets. As a Principal in the business with a 15-year history of providing expert advice and service to clients, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as hands-on supervision of all acquisitions. Prior to joining Special Assets, Avi served as President of a technology distributor with annual sales of $10 million.

Ben Shulman has built a reputation in the real estate market as a professional who pays attention to details. He has a deep understanding of the greater Chicago market and expertise as a broker of office and industrial properties. Prior to joining Special Assets, Ben worked as a broker for Helios Capital representing banks and other clients in the disposition of nonperforming commercial loans. His community involvement is evident in his work on the Real Estate Committee of the Jewish Community Council of West Rogers Park where he also serves as a volunteer board member.

As Vice President of Brokerage, David Goldberg’s primary focus is on sales and leasing of commercial and residential properties. He has extensive experience in REO transactions as well as a deep understanding of real estate foreclosures, short sales and auction markets. He began his real estate career as a Project Manager at Pyramid Contracting, Inc., a subsidiary of Special Assets, where he supervised development, renovations and ongoing management of office, industrial and multi-family properties. David is a member of the National Association of Realtors. He was named a Top Producer 2014 by the Chicago Association of Realtors.
